Will Jacks will replace Tom Abell for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, scheduled to begin on March 1.
“Will Jacks has been called into the squad and is due to arrive in Dhaka this evening. Jacks has been in New Zealand with our Test squad,” ECB stated.
“Tom Abell was ruled out before the series after suffering a side injury with the England Lions during their tour of Sri Lanka last week. Jacks replaces Abell,” Matt Somerford, England team’s media manager told Cricbuzz following the release. Abell is also part of England’s T20I squad.
In preparation for the upcoming series, England’s ODI squad practiced at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday. The tourists arrived in Dhaka on February 24.
First time since 2016, England will play the first two ODIs in Dhaka on March 1 and March 3, and the third game at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on March 6.
After the ODIs, which are part of the World Cup Super League, England will play three T20Is against Bangladesh. The first game will be played in Chattogram on March 9 and the remaining two will be played in Dhaka on March 12 and 14.
