Rachel Delaney Who has been included in the Ierland’s Squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World cup as Rebecca Stokell was ruled out from the competition due to injury. 25 Year old Delaney is playing a all rounder role in ireland squad.
After a medical assessment, Cricket Ireland announced on Friday that Stokell had sustained a foot ligament injury and would be withdrawing from the tournament.
Speaking of the replacement, Carrie Archer, Ireland’s National Selector, said, “We are all devastated for Rebecca and wish her a speedy recovery. Rachel Delaney has been called up – an experienced all-rounder who has been part of recent senior squads. We wish Rachel well as she flies out to join the Irish camp.”
Ireland women’s team starting the world cup journey by playing a match against England on 13th February in the T20 WC events.
