The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday that Pakistan will travel to Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series starting on July 16.
In the first Test, the Galle International Cricket Stadium will host the match on July 16, while Singhalese Sports Club in Colombo will host the second Test on July 24-28.
PCB announced that Babar Azam’s team will arrive in Sri Lanka on July 9 and play a two-day warm-up game on July 11. The venue for the warm-up game has yet to be confirmed.
During Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2022 for the two-match Test series, the South Asian team scaled the target of 342 to claim the best run chase at the ground and won the first Test by four wickets. In the second Test, the hosts levelled the series with a 246-run win as the series ended 1-1.
It has been six years since Pakistan played a Test at the Singhalese Sports Club, Colombo. They won one, lost one, and drew four.
Sri Lanka will be Pakistan’s first assignment in the ICC World Test Championship cycle 2023-25.
