ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 will not have an opening ceremony, reports indicate

Multiple reports state that the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 will not have an Opening Ceremony.

BCCI had originally planned to hold an Opening Ceremony on October 4, the day before the first World Cup match, according to a report in Outlook.

The BCCI is now planning an event before the India vs Pakistan World Cup match that is scheduled for October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium instead of the Opening Ceremony.

During the Captains Day ceremony on October 4, all the captains of the participating teams fielded questions from Ravi Shastri, England’s World Cup winning skipper Eoin Morgan, and the press.

In Ahmedabad, the defending champions England will face New Zealand in a repeat of the 2019 World Cup final.
