Ally Hammel has been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the Pan American Games Santiago 2023, which will serve as an Olympic qualification event.
In this year’s Pan American Games, Team USA will compete in a group with Argentina, Uruguay, Trinidad & Tobago. Canada, Chile, Mexico, and Cuba will compete on the other side of the bracket.
The winner of the tournament will automatically qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. After the tournament, the teams that finish second and third will compete in the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in January to earn their final Olympic berths. The USA is currently ranked 16th in the world.
As the first Terrier ever to be named a first-team All-American twice, Hammel has earned 43 caps for the USWNT since graduating in 2019.
