At the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, baseball/softball will be played, but strangely, none of the three medallist teams from 2019 will be competing.
There will be no current Major League Baseball (MLB) players competing in the baseball tournament, but top stars from Canada and the USA will compete in the softball one.

Baseball/softball teams to watch at the 2023 Pan American Games
The top three baseball teams from 2019 – Puerto Rico, Canada, and Nicaragua – all missed out on qualifying for the 2023 edition. Despite this, the field is still likely to be dominated by countries that play major baseball, such as Mexico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, or Cuba, rather than Chile, the host country.
As Major Leaguers cannot be selected, the strongest domestic leagues will lead the way, with those four leading the way.
In softball, there are many top players in action. The USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico medalists return with their best rosters. Among the players chosen are Ally Carda, a silver medalist from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and a gold medalist from the 2022 World Games. In the same way they did in 2015 and 2019, these three teams are hard to overlook in order to reach the podium again.
